Westcott Radio is endeavoring to play as much local and independent music as possible. The more local and independent, the better in our view. "Local" to us is ideally people in the Westcott neighborhood of Syracuse, followed by the City of Syracuse and Onondaga County. Given our limited geographical focus right now, that's what "local" means to us. Likewise, we consider "independent" to ideally mean either self-released or at least on a small indie label. We're not trying to denigate larger labels, but merely recognizing that the smaller the label, the more help the artist needs and those are the artists we most wish to promote.
